Description

ACC 169.2     All of the reference speaker cables now have new versions with foundational sound improvements. The 169.2 Wire metallurgy and dielectrics have been modified. The addition of silver has increased mid range and high frequency capability. The circuitry upgrades take advantage of this extra detail while controlling the waveform overshoot normally associated with the use of silver. The result is better imaging in the 3D sound field without adding any harsh ear fatiguing distortions. To match the mid range enhancements, the 169.2 has the newly designed Acu-Bass inductor system. This has extended the amount of clean linear energy available in the low frequencies across a larger length of time. Bass notes are now able to sustain themselves naturally without any premature decay. The sound result is a more robust low frequency experience with excellent transition into the mid range.

The moniker Note Perfect was chosen by Bruce Brisson to represent MIT product or products that meet or exceed his best expectations. Look for this symbol of excellence when working on systems that are intended to return performance without peer.

ACC 169 and ACC 173BW are the first of the three ACC Series performance levels, suited to any high resolution speaker that is dynamic and well powered. The unique enclosure is designed to allow the large “music hose” to couple with the face, or dashboard end of the enclosure and the output tails exit the opposite end at the binding posts. This allows easy access to the unique ACC controls for swift and accurate setup. There are 169 MIT poles of articulation inside and at work preserving the delicate and complex musical signal. At the same time it is storing and delivering reserve power to the driver complement, whenever additional energy is required by the performance. This is where the 2C3DTM effect is realized. When the ACC 169 or 173BW’s are installed in a top tier system, musical presentation will seem faster and begin to “pop” and “hang in space” while remaining “easy” or “open” sounding and articulate in detail.

Positive Feedback 2017 - Gregory Petan Reviews the ACC 169

“The soundstage conjured by the MIT really pushed the limits of the Sonus Faber Lilium loudspeakers, feeling limitless. Recordings and their inherent soundstages are revealed to the fullest.”
“Acoustic instruments are extremely well served by the MIT. “Good bye-for My Father” from Brian Bromberg’s Wood again, offers up a level of sheer tactile realism, unable to be reached with prior cable looms I’ve auditioned, with timbre and texture that is spot on”
“With these latest iterations MIT has thrown down a gauntlet for all others to traverse.” Read more here: The ACC 169 Review by Gregory Petan
